Sleman (MAN 3 Sleman) – MAN 3 Sleman continues to provide its students with opportunities to explore promising career pathways. On Friday (May 29, 2026), the madrasa organized an inspiring seminar titled “Achieving Success in Gaining Admission to the Indonesian Air Force Academy (AAU)”. Held in the AVA Hall, the event brought together selected Grade 10 and 11 students from the science program who aspire to pursue careers in military service.
The program was attended by Principal Singgih Sampurno, the Vice Principal for Student Affairs, and members of the Guidance and Counseling (BK) team. To provide firsthand insight into the highly competitive admission process, the committee invited three speakers, including Ikrar Tafakur Rachman, a 2025 graduate of MAN 3 Sleman who is currently undergoing training as a cadet at the Indonesian Air Force Academy.

During his presentation, Ikrar shared his personal journey, challenges, and preparation strategies that ultimately led to his acceptance into one of Indonesia’s most prestigious military academies. He encouraged students with similar aspirations to begin preparing themselves as early as possible.
“The keys are discipline and consistency. Develop positive habits from the moment you wake up until the time you go to bed. Maintain your physical fitness through structured training, but equally important is strengthening your spiritual foundation through worship and prayer,” Ikrar advised the audience.
Reflecting on his own experience, he explained that perseverance played a crucial role in his success. Alongside intensive physical preparation and continuous efforts to stay informed about admission requirements, he consistently prayed and remained committed to his goal throughout the selection process.

The atmosphere in the AVA Hall was lively and interactive, with students enthusiastically participating in discussions and asking questions. The speakers also engaged the audience through quizzes and interactive activities, creating an energetic learning environment.
For the teachers, seeing a former student return as a successful Air Force Academy cadet was a source of immense pride. Dr. Failasufah, a Guidance and Counseling teacher at MAN 3 Sleman, expressed her appreciation for Ikrar’s willingness to share his experiences despite his demanding military training schedule.
“As teachers, we are extremely proud of Ikrar’s achievements. We are also grateful that, despite the challenges of military education, he took the time to return to his alma mater and motivate younger students. We hope his success story will inspire many more Mayoga students to pursue their dreams with determination and confidence,” she said.
The seminar not only provided practical guidance on entering the Air Force Academy but also reinforced the importance of discipline, perseverance, and faith in achieving long-term goals. Through the inspiring testimony of one of its own alumni, MAN 3 Sleman continues to encourage students to dream big and prepare diligently for their future careers. (est)
