MAN 3 Sleman Counselor Explores Love-Based Curriculum at Central Java Madrasah Counseling Forum

Sleman (MAN 3 Sleman) — Reny Puspitawati, a Guidance and Counseling (BK) teacher from MAN 3 Sleman, participated in the Madrasah Aliyah Guidance and Counseling Teachers Forum (MGBK MA) of Central Java held at Raden Mas Said State Islamic University (UIN Raden Mas Said Surakarta) on Tuesday (June 9, 2026).

Representing the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY), five BK teachers attended the event as invited guests. The delegation consisted of one teacher from MAN 3 Sleman and four teachers from MAN 2 Yogyakarta.

The delegation departed from Yogyakarta at 7:30 a.m. and arrived at UIN Raden Mas Said Surakarta at approximately 8:30 a.m. Upon arrival, the guests from DIY received a warm welcome from Beta Nur Bety Tsani, Chairperson of the Central Java MGBK MA, along with the organizing committee and participants.

Throughout the program, participants received various sessions related to guidance and counseling services in educational settings. The highlight of the event was a presentation delivered by Frendi, who discussed the implementation of the Love-Based Curriculum (Kurikulum Berbasis Cinta/KBC) in education.

The session received positive responses from participants, who actively engaged in discussions and raised questions regarding the practical application of the concept in schools.

Through this forum, BK teachers gained valuable insights and new perspectives to strengthen their counseling services in their respective institutions. The understanding of the Love-Based Curriculum is expected to enhance the role of counselors in providing more humane, empathetic, and character-oriented guidance for students.

Reny shared her appreciation for the knowledge gained during the activity.

“Today, we gained a great deal of valuable knowledge. In the future, these insights can be applied in our guidance and counseling services at school to help create a learning environment that is comfortable, supportive, and focused on students’ personal growth,” she said.

The participation of MAN 3 Sleman in this forum reflects the madrasa’s commitment to continuously developing the competence of its educators and strengthening student support services through innovative and compassionate educational approaches. (ren)
