Sleman (MAN 3 Sleman) – Demonstrating its commitment to both religious devotion and social responsibility, MAN 3 Sleman successfully completed the distribution of qurban animal hides following its Eid al-Adha celebrations on Friday (May 29, 2026). The hides were officially entrusted to the Muhammadiyah Zakat, Infaq, and Sadaqah Institution (Lazismu) Depok Branch, Sleman, for further management and utilization in community welfare initiatives.
Held as part of the madrasa’s annual GEMAQU (Mayoga Qurban Education Initiative) program, the activity was carried out in a spirit of cooperation and service. This year, MAN 3 Sleman performed the slaughtering of one cow and nine goats, with every stage of the process—from preparation and slaughtering to skinning and the distribution of meat and hides—conducted collaboratively by teachers, staff members, and students.
A key moment of the program was the symbolic handover of the qurban hides by Singgih Sampurno, Principal of MAN 3 Sleman, to representatives of Lazismu Depok Branch. The ceremony was witnessed by members of the qurban committee as well as students who actively participated in the annual event.
“Alhamdulillah, we are grateful that the entire qurban program at MAN 3 Sleman, from the slaughtering process to the distribution of its benefits, was carried out smoothly thanks to the outstanding cooperation of our teachers, staff, and students. Entrusting the qurban hides to Lazismu Depok reflects our confidence in their professional management, allowing the benefits to reach a wider segment of the community,” said Singgih.
Beyond its religious significance, the program also served as a valuable educational experience for students. Through direct involvement in the organization and implementation of the event, they gained practical lessons in social responsibility, teamwork, leadership, and community service.
By integrating worship with character education, MAN 3 Sleman continues to nurture students who are not only academically capable but also socially conscious and committed to serving others. (est)
