MAN 3 Sleman Fiqh Teachers Explore Marriage Guidance Best Practices at KUA Sewon

Sleman (MAN 3 Sleman) – To enhance professional insight and strengthen the quality of instruction in Fiqh and Usul al-Fiqh, teachers from Madrasah Aliyah across the Special Region of Yogyakarta participated in a regular meeting of the Fiqh–Usul al-Fiqh Subject Teachers Association (MGMP) on Wednesday (May 20, 2026). The event was held at the Sewon Office of Religious Affairs (KUA Sewon), Bantul.

The program featured a study visit under the theme “Evaluating the Effectiveness of Premarital Guidance (BIMWIN) for Prospective Couples at KUA Sewon” and was led by the Head of KUA Sewon, H. Mustafied Amna, S.Ag., M.H., together with his team.

Representing MAN 3 Sleman, Fiqh teachers Eny Isnaini and Islamiatur Rohmah took part in the activity. The agenda included opening remarks, addresses from the MGMP chairperson and the Head of KUA Sewon, an exchange of appreciation gifts, a group photo session, an interactive discussion on marriage guidance services, and the closing session.

During his presentation, H. Mustafied Amna explained that KUA Sewon currently provides 48 public services, covering marriage administration, premarital guidance, zakat and waqf services, mosque affairs, religious data management, administrative services, Sharia consultation, ministerial assignments, and Islamic religious outreach programs.

He also shared that KUA Sewon regularly conducts premarital guidance sessions twice each month, during the first and third weeks. Through these programs, the office serves approximately 600 prospective brides and grooms annually.

In the discussion session, participants learned about several educational and family development programs implemented by KUA Sewon. These include BRUS (School-Age Youth Guidance), BRUN (Marriage-Age Youth Guidance), BIMWIN (Premarital Guidance) for engaged couples, and Pusaka Sakinah, a mentoring program designed for couples who have been married for one to ten years.

The BIMWIN program provides participants with essential knowledge on building a sakinah, mawaddah, wa rahmah family, nurturing high-quality future generations, understanding challenges at different stages of married life, and managing household finances. Participants are also encouraged to develop a five-year family life plan as part of their preparation for marriage.

Through this educational visit, Fiqh and Usul al-Fiqh teachers gained valuable insights that can be integrated into classroom learning, particularly in topics related to Islamic family law (fiqh munakahat), family life education, and character development. The experience is expected to enrich students’ understanding of family responsibilities and better prepare them for their roles in society in the future. (mia)
