MAN 3 Sleman Holds Qur’anic Reading Session on Waqf and Ibtida’

Sleman (MAN 3 Sleman) – To strengthen Qur’anic literacy and improve the quality of Qur’an recitation, MAN 3 Sleman held a sharing session on Friday, July 3, 2026. The session featured MAN 3 Sleman tahfidz teacher, Raflesia Yasin, who discussed one of the essential topics in tajwid: waqf, the proper point to pause when reciting, and ibtida’, the proper point to resume recitation.

According to Ustadz Yasin, understanding waqf and ibtida’ is essential because it helps preserve the intended meaning of the Qur’anic verses during recitation.

In his presentation, Ustadz Yasin explained the meanings of several pause marks commonly found in the Qur’an. He emphasized that knowing when to stop and where to begin again is very important, as an incorrect pause or start may affect the meaning of the verse being recited.

The participants, consisting of the principal, teachers, and staff members, showed great enthusiasm throughout the session. Through this program, MAN 3 Sleman hopes that the knowledge shared will bring benefit and blessings to the entire madrasah community. (est)
