MAN 3 Sleman Partners with ITDA to Equip Teachers with AI Skills for Innovative Learning

Sleman (MAN 3 Sleman) – As part of its commitment to preparing educators for the digital era, MAN 3 Sleman collaborated with the Department of Informatics, Faculty of Industrial Technology (FTI), Institut Teknologi Dirgantara Adisutjipto (ITDA) to organize an Artificial Intelligence (AI) Training Program on Wednesday, July 8, 2026.

The training was designed specifically for MAN 3 Sleman teachers to enhance their digital competencies and encourage the development of engaging, technology-enhanced learning media.

In her opening remarks, Astika Ayuningtyas, Dean of the Faculty of Industrial Technology at ITDA, emphasized that artificial intelligence should be viewed as a tool that empowers educators rather than replaces them.

“We hope this community engagement program will continue to support educators in improving their professional skills. AI technology is advancing rapidly, but it will never replace teachers. Instead, it serves as a partner that enables teachers to be more creative and innovative in the learning process,” she said.

Astika also explained that the training aimed to broaden participants’ understanding of Generative AI while helping them create high-quality instructional materials. Principal Singgih Sampurno welcomed the collaboration and expressed his hope that the partnership between MAN 3 Sleman and ITDA would continue to grow in support of better educational services for students.

During the hands-on session, teachers explored how AI tools could be integrated with Canva to develop presentation materials and digital learning resources. Participants enthusiastically experimented with creating Microsoft PowerPoint presentations more efficiently while maintaining creativity through the support of artificial intelligence. The first day of the training concluded successfully in the AVA Room of MAN 3 Sleman.

The program continued on the following day, Thursday, July 9, 2026, through an online session via Zoom. The second day focused on participants’ project presentations, feedback from ITDA lecturers, a post-training assessment, and discussions on the practical implementation of AI in teaching before the program officially concluded.
