Sleman (MAN 3 Sleman) – The opening ceremony of the 2026 National Student Sports Olympiad (O2SN) for Senior High School, Madrasah Aliyah, and Vocational High School students across Sleman Regency was officially held at Darussalam Sports Hall (GOR DS), Selokerto, Ngaglik, Sleman, on Wednesday (May 20, 2026). The annual event serves as both a platform for student-athletes to showcase their talents and an avenue for developing future sporting excellence.
The ceremony was officially inaugurated by Pariyana, S.Pd., M.T., Head of the Secondary Education Office (Balai Dikmen) of Sleman Regency. In his remarks, he expressed his hope that all participants would uphold the values of sportsmanship and fair play throughout the competition. Also in attendance was Cahyono Setia Wibowo, S.Ag., M.M., Head of Services at the Secondary Education Office, along with event organizers, referees, and teacher mentors.
One of the most solemn moments of the opening ceremony was the recitation of the Athletes’ Oath and Referees’ Oath, symbolizing a shared commitment to honesty, integrity, and fairness during the competition.
On this significant occasion, Zulfa Nadia Aldis Semiyanto, a Grade 10 student from Class X C of MAN 3 Sleman, was entrusted with the honor of representing all student-athletes from across Sleman Regency in leading the Athletes’ Oath. Standing before officials, participants, and fellow competitors, Zulfa guided the athletes in pledging to compete with honesty, fairness, and respect for the spirit of sportsmanship.
The opening ceremony marked the beginning of the journey for school contingents throughout Sleman Regency as they strive for excellence in this year’s competition. With determination and dedication, young athletes from various schools are now ready to compete and demonstrate their best performances while upholding the noble values of sport. (isn)
