Sleman (MAN 3 Sleman) – MAN 3 Sleman officially opened its 2026/2027 Madrasah Student Orientation Program, known as MATAMUDA, with a formal ceremony on Monday, July 13, 2026. The ceremony was led by Tri Wahyuni, Acting Head of the Madrasah Education Section at the Sleman Regency Office of the Ministry of Religious Affairs.
In her address, Tri Wahyuni congratulated students who had progressed to the next grade and warmly welcomed the new students into the MAN 3 Sleman community. She reminded them that success is a choice that must be pursued through perseverance, discipline, and consistent effort.
“Success is a choice. Once you choose it, the journey will not always be easy or instant. Success must be pursued and earned. We are all pioneers of our own success, not merely heirs to it,” she said.

She then invited the students to reflect on the philosophy of a pencil. A pencil can create meaningful and beautiful writing because it is guided by a hand, just as students grow through the guidance of teachers and the prayers of their parents. It must also be sharpened before it can be useful, symbolizing how learning, discipline, and challenges help shape a person’s abilities and character.
She further explained that the true value of a pencil lies in the graphite within, not in its outer wooden casing. In the same way, a person’s worth is defined by knowledge, character, and integrity rather than appearance alone.
Tri Wahyuni also reminded students to be mindful of the digital footprints they leave in everyday life and on social media. “Your thumbs can become your greatest danger,” she warned, encouraging students to think carefully before posting, commenting, or sharing content online. (mia)
