Surging Demand: Prospective Students Compete for Limited Seats in MAN 3 Sleman’s First-Wave Admissions

Sleman (MAN 3 Sleman) – Madrasah Aliyah Negeri (MAN) 3 Sleman has entered a crucial stage in its 2026/2027 first-wave (independent track) student admissions process. On Monday (April 20, 2026), dozens of prospective students began participating in interviews and selection tests held on the school campus.

This phase follows earlier selections through Academic and Non-Academic Achievement tracks, the Tahfidz (Qur’an memorization) track, and the Computer-Based Test (CBT) pathway. After completing online document verification, candidates are now attending in-person interviews and examinations. According to the schedule, this intensive testing process will continue over the next four days.

PMBM Committee Chair, Siti Mutmainah, reported exceptionally high enthusiasm among this year’s graduates of MTs and junior high schools. A total of 476 applicants are competing for the limited quota available in this first wave.

“For this first wave, MAN 3 Sleman is offering 151 seats. With 476 applicants, the competition is undoubtedly tight,” she stated while monitoring the examination process.

The high number of applicants reflects growing public trust in the quality of education at MAN 3 Sleman. Notably, applicants come not only from the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY), but also from various parts of Indonesia, including Bangka Belitung, Bekasi, and other regions beyond Java.

As of the first day, the interview and testing processes have proceeded smoothly without significant issues. The One-Stop Integrated Service (PTSP) area was busy handling document verification, while the computer laboratory was filled with participants taking the CBT exams.

“Overall, today’s process has run smoothly. The diverse regional backgrounds of participants indicate that MAN 3 Sleman’s reputation for excellence has reached a national scale,” Siti added.

Through its achievement and tahfidz pathways, MAN 3 Sleman remains committed to nurturing outstanding students who demonstrate not only intellectual excellence but also strong spiritual depth and well-developed non-academic talents. (est)
