Sleman (MAN 3 Sleman) — Another proud achievement has been recorded by a student of MAN 3 Sleman at the provincial level. Simdan Kentaro Minoru, a Grade X D student, successfully won third place in the Judo event, competing in the +81 kg Male category at the Pekan Olahraga Pelajar Daerah (POPDA) of the Special Region of Yogyakarta, held on Saturday (April 4, 2026).

Kentaro’s accomplishment adds to the growing list of sporting achievements earned by MAN 3 Sleman students at the regional level. His perseverance and fighting spirit on the mat paid off with a well-deserved bronze medal.

The Head of MAN 3 Sleman, Singgih Sampurno, expressed his high appreciation and pride for this achievement. He hopes this success will serve as motivation for even greater accomplishments in the future.

“Alhamdulillah, we are very grateful for Kentaro’s achievement. This is clear proof that madrasah students are able to compete in non-academic fields, especially in martial arts,” he stated.

In line with this, the Vice Principal for Student Affairs, Siti Mutmainah, emphasized that this medal is a source of pride for the entire madrasah community. She also hopes that Kentaro’s success will inspire other students.

“May this achievement continue to grow and inspire other students to explore their potential and confidently compete in various fields,” she added. (est)
