Morning Qur’anic Recitation Habit Enlivens Ramadan at MAN 3 Sleman

Sleman (MAN 3 Sleman) — On Monday (February 23, 2026), a solemn atmosphere filled the classrooms of MAN 3 Sleman as the melodious recitation of the Holy Qur’an echoed throughout the school. Students were seen devotedly engaging in tadarus (collective Qur’anic recitation) and revising their memorization before lessons began. This morning muraja’ah (memorization revision) activity has become part of a positive daily habit continuously fostered to strengthen students’ religious character, especially during the blessed month of Ramadan.

Each class was accompanied by its academic advisor. Some students recited softly, while others focused intensely on memorizing verses with great dedication. Teachers supervised and guided the sessions to ensure they proceeded in an orderly and effective manner. Their presence among students served as both mentorship and motivation, encouraging consistency in maintaining Qur’anic memorization.

The morning Qur’anic recitation (tadarus) program represents the madrasah’s commitment to cultivating a strong Qur’anic culture. Beyond enhancing reading and memorization skills, the activity nurtures discipline, perseverance, and responsibility toward individual memorization targets.

Principal Singgih Sampurno emphasized the spiritual significance of the activity, particularly during Ramadan.

“Through this morning Qur’anic recitation, students not only preserve their memorization but also increase their voluntary acts of worship during Ramadan. This reflects the madrasah’s effort to guide students closer to the Qur’an and maximize the blessings of the holy month,” he stated.

Through consistent implementation, MAN 3 Sleman remains committed to fostering a balanced educational environment that integrates academic excellence with spiritual growth. The tadarus and muraja’ah practices are expected to shape a generation that excels in achievement while remaining firm in faith and values. (est)
