Sleman (MAN 3 Sleman) — As part of its Halalbihalal series, MAN 3 Sleman hosted an inspiring religious talk focusing on strengthening ukhuwah islamiyah (Islamic brotherhood) through the lens of communication science. The session was delivered by Erik Hadi Saputra, S.Kom., M.Eng., Vice Dean II for Non-Academic Affairs at the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences, Universitas AMIKOM, who is also widely known as a motivator and communication expert.
In his presentation, Erik emphasized the importance of making goodness the central standard in life. He encouraged participants to reflect on themselves before acting, ensuring that every action is guided by sincere intentions and positive values.
He further highlighted a key communication principle exemplified by the Prophet:
“Speak to people according to their level of understanding.”

According to him, this principle serves as a fundamental foundation for building harmonious and effective relationships in everyday life. During the session, he also explained several types of communication:
•Informative communication — aimed at delivering information
•Persuasive communication — intended to influence others
•Coercive communication — involving pressure or threats
•Human relations communication — a more humanistic form of persuasive communication, aligned with the concept of qaulan baligha, which refers to conveying messages that deeply resonate with the heart
In closing, Erik delivered a powerful message, encouraging everyone to remain consistent in doing good, in feeling content, and in sharing—whether knowledge or happiness.
“Every good deed will return to you, even extending its impact to future generations,” he concluded.
Through this session, it is hoped that the entire MAN 3 Sleman community will gain a deeper understanding of the importance of effective communication in strengthening Islamic brotherhood, and be able to apply it in daily life—both within the school environment and in the wider community. (mia)
