Sleman (MAN 3 Sleman) — In an effort to literacy culture within madrasahs, the Regional Office of the Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Special Region of Yogyakarta held the 2026 Literacy Festival Writing Workshop, combined with the launch of the Aksara Cinta Ramadhan program. The event took place at the Main Hall of MAN 2 Kulon Progo on Thursday (April 23, 2026).
MAN 3 Sleman participated by sending its representative, librarian Maya Aprillia, who joined Session 2 starting at 1:00 PM alongside participants from various madrasah levels across the region, including RA, MIN, MTs, and MAN.
The workshop featured two expert speakers in the field of literacy. The first speaker, Nur Hidayati, delivered a session on poetry writing, emphasizing that the key to writing lies in the courage to begin and the habit of extensive reading as a source of inspiration.
“Start writing, and read widely to explore ideas,” she encouraged.
The second speaker, Sutanto, presented material on writing kultum (short religious talks). He highlighted the importance of crafting messages that are concise, clear, and impactful—especially in the context of delivering meaningful messages during the month of Ramadan.
Beyond the workshop, the event also marked the official launch of Aksara Cinta Ramadhan, a literacy movement encouraging madrasahs to actively write and spread positive values through written works during the holy month.
MAN 3 Sleman’s participation in this event is expected to further strengthen its literacy culture and inspire the development of creative and sustainable literacy programs within the school community. (may)
