Cantasnala Inspires Spirit of Giving During Ramadan at MAN 3 Sleman

Sleman (MAN 3 Sleman) — A solemn and reflective atmosphere filled Masjid Muntasyirul Ulum on Tuesday morning (February 24, 2026). After performing the Dhuha prayer, reciting supplications, and chanting Asmaul Husna, students of Grades X, XI, and XII, along with teachers and staff, gathered for the daily Ramadan kultum (short sermon), part of the madrasah’s spiritual enrichment program throughout the holy month.

The morning sermon was delivered passionately by Cantasnala Hammain Hendarjat, a Grade XI student. Carrying the theme “Nurturing the Spirit of Giving in the Holy Month,” he emphasized the importance of social care and generosity during Ramadan.

In his sermon, Cantasnala reminded the congregation that Ramadan is not merely about abstaining from food and drink, but also about strengthening compassion and the willingness to share with others.

“In this blessed month, rewards are multiplied. Voluntary acts are valued like obligatory ones, and obligatory deeds are rewarded many times over. Therefore, we should seize this moment to increase our charity and help those in need,” he stated.

He also referred to the Qur’anic message in Surah Al-Baqarah (2:261), which illustrates that every good deed is never wasted. A single act of kindness can be rewarded up to seven hundred times or more—especially in Ramadan, a month full of blessings.

Cantasnala further conveyed that sharing does not require wealth. Providing food for iftar, offering assistance to friends, sharing knowledge, or even giving a sincere smile are all forms of charity.

The congregation listened attentively to the message. The kultum speakers rotate among students of Grades X and XI as part of the madrasah’s effort to nurture young preachers and build students’ confidence in delivering Islamic messages before a public audience.

Through this activity, the madrasah hopes to strengthen bonds within the school community and inspire everyone to make this Ramadan their best—by increasing charity, compassion, and continuous good deeds. (isn)
