Sleman (MAN 3 Sleman) — Nabil Khairani Fathurrahman, a Grade XI H student of MAN 3 Sleman, successfully secured first place at the prestigious Pekan Olahraga Pelajar Daerah (POPDA) of the Special Region of Yogyakarta on Friday (April 3, 2026). This achievement follows his previous victory as champion in the FORKI DIY championship just a week earlier.
Nabil claimed the top podium after defeating his opponents in the Karate event, specifically in the Junior Kumite -76 kg (Male) category. This victory further reinforces MAN 3 Sleman’s reputation as a “Madrasah of Champions.” The student expressed his happiness and gratitude, stating that this accomplishment is the result of hard work and strong support from many parties.
“I am very grateful and would like to express my sincere thanks for all the prayers and support, both from my family and the school, who have continuously encouraged me to achieve my best,” he said proudly.
This outstanding achievement received high appreciation from the school. The Head of MAN 3 Sleman, Singgih Sampurno, expressed his pride in Nabil’s dedication in bringing honor to the madrasah at the provincial level. He also hopes that this non-academic achievement will not stop here but will become a valuable asset for the student’s future.
