Toward Inclusive Education: MAN 3 Sleman Partners with UIN Sunan Kalijaga Disability Services Center

Sleman (MAN 3 Sleman) — MAN 3 Sleman held an official audience with the Disability Services Center (PLD) of UIN Sunan Kalijaga on Friday (April 24, 2026), starting at 1:00 PM. The meeting took place on the school campus as an initial step toward strengthening inclusive education services within the madrasah.

During the discussion, both parties explored plans for collaboration in providing sign language interpreters (JBI) for the upcoming Akhirussanah and Graduation Ceremony scheduled for May. This initiative aims to ensure a more accessible and inclusive experience for all participants, including individuals with disabilities.

Head of MAN 3 Sleman, Singgih Sampurno, emphasized that the meeting went beyond addressing technical event needs, marking a strategic step toward building a truly inclusive madrasah. He noted that this effort aligns with national priority programs, particularly in strengthening human resources, including those with disabilities.

“This reflects our commitment to delivering equal and inclusive services. Moving forward, we hope this collaboration will extend beyond a single event into sustainable development programs,” he stated.

Furthermore, MAN 3 Sleman envisions long-term collaboration with PLD through initiatives such as sign language training and the development of inclusive extracurricular activities. These programs are expected not only to enhance students’ knowledge but also to empower them to contribute positively to their communities.

For context, the Disability Services Center at UIN Sunan Kalijaga operates under the Institute for Higher Education Services and Community Engagement (LLPM), which plays a vital role in promoting inclusive and disability-friendly education.

This partnership also supports MAN 3 Sleman’s commitment to developing an Integrity Zone (ZI) toward a Corruption-Free Area (WBK), particularly in enhancing inclusive, professional, and equitable public services.

Through this collaboration, MAN 3 Sleman and PLD UIN Sunan Kalijaga aim to build a strong synergy in creating a more inclusive, humane, and empowering educational environment for all. (mia)
