Sleman (MAN 3 Sleman) — In an effort to fill the holy month of Ramadan with positive and inspiring activities, the Islamic Student Organization (Rohis) of MAN 3 Sleman once again held the 6th Muntasyirul Ulum Ramadan Festival (MURAFEST #6) on Friday (February 27, 2026). This annual event serves as both a competition arena and a platform for student self-actualization under the theme “Innovation in Islamic History as a Beacon for the Progress of the Times.”
MURAFEST #6 is divided into two categories: an internal category for students of PP Muntasyirul Ulum and an external category open to all Grade X, XI, and XII students of MAN 3 Sleman. The competitions include chain poetry reading, Islamic quiz bowl (Cerdas Cermat Agama), fashion show, adhan (call to prayer), and Islamic singing contest.
The official opening ceremony was held in the school library’s reading room. The event began with remarks from Vice Principal for Student Affairs Siti Mutmainah and Head of PP Muntasyirul Ulum Wahidatul Mukarromah. In their speeches, both expressed appreciation for Rohis’ consistency in organizing Ramadan programs that are both educational and competitive.
“MURAFEST is not merely a competition event, but a platform to nurture achievement and strengthen students’ Islamic character,” said the Head of PPMU.
The competitions were held across various locations within the school compound, including the mosque, PSBB Building, music room, and science laboratory. Although rain briefly poured over the area, the entire series of activities proceeded smoothly. Participants’ enthusiasm was evident in every competition branch, reflecting a healthy spirit of competition and strong sense of togetherness.
The event received positive responses from the entire school community. Beyond strengthening bonds of ukhuwah (brotherhood), MURAFEST #6 also serves as a meaningful momentum for students to channel their talents, creativity, and potential in productive ways throughout the blessed month of Ramadan.
