MAN 3 Sleman Hosts MYSCOM #5, Inspiring Young Innovators for a Sustainable Earth

Sleman (MAN 3 Sleman) — MAN 3 Sleman once again organized the Mayoga Youth Science Competition (MYSCOM) #5, carrying the theme and slogan “Scientific Innovation for a Sustainable Earth: Clean Energy and a Zero-Waste World.” The competition serves as a national platform for junior secondary students (SMP/MTs) across Indonesia to showcase their talents and achievements in both pure and applied sciences.

Head of the organizing committee, Aldecilla Dena Oktafiani, expressed hope that MYSCOM #5 would open broad opportunities for participants to excel according to their interests while fostering innovation and outstanding achievements among Indonesia’s young generation.

Chairman of the MAN 3 Sleman Committee, Prof. Dr. Drs. Amir Mu’allim, BA., MIS, also conveyed his appreciation for the successful organization of the event. The opening ceremony was enlivened by a unique four-language MC performance—Indonesian, Arabic, English, and Javanese—presented by MAN 3 Sleman students, adding a distinctive and festive atmosphere.

In his remarks, Prof. Amir encouraged participants to view competition as a learning journey. He emphasized that setbacks should not be seen as failure, but as delayed success and part of the path toward achievement. He urged students to support one another, recognize their own limitations, and continuously strive for self-improvement.

He further highlighted that developing a high-quality young generation requires not only academic excellence but also strong religious and moral foundations, so that students grow into well-rounded individuals with character and integrity.

Through MYSCOM #5, MAN 3 Sleman reaffirms its commitment to nurturing innovative, high-achieving youth who are also conscious of environmental sustainability and the future of the planet. (mia)
