Sleman (MAN 3 Sleman) — The Mayoga Research Club (MRC) of MAN 3 Sleman organized Talkshow #5 as part of its ongoing programs to foster students’ skills in scientific writing and entrepreneurship. The event took place on Tuesday (February 3, 2026) at the school’s AVA hall and involved several mentors with expertise in research and innovation.
In his opening remarks, Principal Singgih Sampurno expressed his appreciation for the initiative led by the Mayoga Research Club. He highlighted that scientific writing does more than train students’ logical and systematic thinking—it also helps shape a critical and analytical mindset.

“This is a highly valuable program. It equips students with scientific thinking skills while also nurturing an entrepreneurial spirit. We hope activities like this will develop students who are critical, creative, and solution-oriented,” he stated.
The talkshow began with an introduction to the “Scientific Writing Tree,” followed by a motivational session emphasizing the importance of scientific writing for students. Participants then completed a pre-test and engaged in discussions to assess their initial understanding.

Students received guidance on the structure of scientific papers, strategies for generating research ideas, and an introduction to the Business Model Canvas (BMC). The session continued with hands-on practice, where participants developed their own ideas and BMC drafts under the guidance of mentors, and later presented their work.
The program concluded with a post-test and an awarding session to recognize active participation and the most promising ideas. Through Talkshow #5, MRC hopes students will be able to develop research and business ideas in a more structured, practical, and impactful way. (nis)
